I-ART The Poetic of Identity
I-Art expresses the vision of ethics and aesthetics in the world of identity, in which individuals, communities and places are at the heart of the cultural sphere, but also political, economic and social. It is an artistic movement that explores the life cycle revealing new shapes of his most authentic expressions. It affirms the existence of art in everyday actions and events in the living memory, as high expression of identity that is revealed with the use of contemporary artistic languages, hybrids and unedited.
The basics of I Art are the following:
Art is identity: expression and celebration of the identities of individuals, communities and places as an organic evolution of their history and ancient culture.
Art is life: I Art is art itself in the present, it is poetic action, the I expression can only express itself in life, in the moment in which it occurs; it is not in the painting but in painting, not in the score but in execution, not in the object but in the inspired manuality who creates it. Appearance is substance.
Art is unity: I Art supports the overcoming of the partial views, of the contradictions universal-particular, material-immaterial, visible-invisible, soul-body, thanks to the awareness of their coexistence in total action in which they simultaneously occur as part of the same thing.
Art is immaterial: art revealing the invisible and immaterial as essential components of things, interpreter of new dynamic forms of the ancient memory, of invisible and timeless relationships, celebration of tradition and invention of tradition itself.
Art is diversity: abhorrence of stereotyped images and forms all the same and celebration of the unique and unrepeatable; propulsive force towards border forms and lives, unexplored, unique and symbiotic with the places that produce them; elimination of the traditional places for art and proclamation of the omnipresence of art, which can happen at any time and everywhere as free expression of identity.
I ART is identity
Everyone is called to give an authentic form to his actions (as expression of his tastes, personalities and visions) and to dig up the invisible core of truth, to live it and reveal it. Every community and every place, also, are the expression of their history, traditions and culture and it is our responsibility to recognize them, respect them and make them alive.
Each person, as well as each community, is a system of values, memories and components that make it unique. In this way the style of shapes should be unique and multiple. Contemporary generations know and collect messages of the past cultures to internalize for projecting into the future with a sense of continuity.
Contemporaneity is the last point in the history timeline, the time of synthesis that cannot be isolated but manneristically connected in a progress of values and cultures.
Then I-Art is an action of freedom, expression of identity according to contemporary aesthetic codes and exaltation of everyone and every community as unique and unrepeatable. I-Art is the show of the essence as an expression of shared truth, and only by browsing it, cultivating it and expressing it one is free from the imposition of others form and one can enforce its essence as a condition of happiness.
I ART is life
I Art declares the expressive horizons enlargement and the realization of the work as total space activity surrounding it.
Traditional Art, from classical to contemporary, normally refers to the artistic work itself, to what you see (picture, music, drama, installation, land art, video art, performance and so on) that is static, open to passive or interactive fruition of the observer.
I Art is not the artistic product, but the action that produces it as living expression of authenticity and identity, namely the artist's creative act when it is realised: Art is the action, the work is its representation. “The artwork must be alive, as human action who produces it and then it is devoted to identify with his life” (Beuys), asserting the endless of art and its connection with life. You cannot completely identify yourself in your paint, but you only can do it while you are painting it: in fact the whole expressivity of human being is not in the painting but in painting it, not in the score but in execution, not in the object but in the inspired manuality who creates it.
So the work is unique, because of its being. Just complete, it will become firm, unmoving representation of its creation, the artistic act itself. Instead the artwork is a vital realization, work in progress, choral action full of tension. And if this is the only time when it is possible the artistic action, the appearance is the substance. I-Art takes place inside the sites of apparently ordinary life, to understand and reveal the extraordinary and substantial aspect, invisible and intangible element. Art is expression and revelation of identity, total performance of which everything is part and in which everyone can be an artists.
I Art moves the artistic production from material to immaterial, from object to action, from traditional artistic forms to the total space of reality and landscape, Aristotelian entelechy, movement for freedom.
I ART is immaterial
The realm of intangible cultural heritage and oral traditions is the natural expression of the artistic action, because it is lively culture, high expression of a community's identity, which cannot live in an ephemeral present.
In this sense, the expressions of intangible heritage are artistic actions, as higher and necessary manifestations of a community’s identity embodied in a-temporal forms, revealing the inner life, synthesis of cultural timeless relations with their fathers stretched to their children. Living traditions are not crystallization of cold past forms, but they are interpreted new forms that mix and surround the intercultural society.
I Art is a celebration of tradition and invention of the same tradition. It does not refer to the past, but to the changing forms of living memory in the present, to the creation coming from ritual in which we recognize ourselves and which we accept the inheritance. Changes allow us, over time, to approach this mysterious inheritance of us to ourselves (Louis Juvet). Change as evolution of a tradition interpreted in the present, which becomes tradition itself.
The artist’s fundamental role emerges in the society (Beuys), because he is called to create new shapes, consistently with the techniques and the spirit of the past, adding new hidden meanings, also personal and contemporary. It needs to retrace the historical journey to interpret it in the present, showing how from the experience of realty and from memory it can be developed a completely new form, the form of the authentic life and of the organic culture.
I ART is unity
I Art supports the overcoming of the partial views, of the contradictions universal-particular, material-immaterial, visible-invisible, soul-body, thanks to the awareness of their coexistence in total action in which they simultaneously occur as part of the same thing.
It promotes an equal vision of human components, between logic and instinct, rational and irrational, material and immaterial, supporting the integration of science, culture and art. The reason that becomes one with the instinct (Hegel), that becomes unpredictable, that can be free and give freedom (Beuys).
It proposes the integration among different forms of art, their composition in an open language that has got in it other languages, it is neo-trans-vanguard, in which there is a melting pot of different languages, not only pictorial but especially about the poetic of the action, the land art, conceptual art and other avant-gardist movements, to reveal new forms of living memory.
I-ART is diversity
The recent history of the West is characterized by the continuing domination of a material dimension. Materialism and monetization are set in the modern and contemporary society, where reigns the extreme fragmentation of knowledge, specialization of occupations and activities aimed to obtain same forms and consumer products economically competitive.
I Art is the affirmation of diversity, as free expressions of unique being, also authentic and self-determining. It starts from the declaration of independence from each obligation or academic, commercial standard, from the positive value of the refusal of predetermined, prepackaged forms enforced by smoothing volitions.
Exaltation of the idea of universality as unity and diversity. It is abhorrence of passivism consumerist, democratic assertion that each one, respecting his freedom and happiness, must choose his own forms, create them and be the benchmark of artistic creations and production. It is also the affirmation of new interdisciplinary languages celebrating original forms of genius loci and communities’ identities.
